About Seiko Prospex SPB255J1 Black Series 68's Diver Modern re-Interpretation :

The original model launched in 1968 was an innovative model with a water resistance of 300 m and an automatic movement of 10 alternations. While retaining the crisp and powerful design of the original model, the SPB255J1 offers comfort and fits the wrist by adopting a smaller case size of 42mm.

Night diving is a completely different experience from enjoying the sea and the mysterious world of the ocean at night.

Today, four special models evoke the underwater world at night: The Black Series. Its black box expresses the darkness and silence of the night ocean, and the orange color is inspired by the lights that illuminate it.

The four models include three modern reinterpretations of iconic watches from 1965 and 1970 with The Black Series' worldview.

They are equipped with the caliber 6R35, which delivers a power reserve of 70 hours.

The SPB255J1's time markers and hands are coated with Lumibrite to ensure high readability in the darkest conditions.

The SPB255J1 watch is offered with a fabric strap that incorporates a traditional Japanese braiding technique called Seichu. Its strength and resistance to degradation caused by exposure to sunlight meet the most demanding standards of Seiko Prospex diver's watches. In addition, the additional strap.

About Seiko:

Follow your dreams and keep moving ahead is the philosophy of Seiko's founder: Kintaro Hattori.

Fascinated with Swiss watchmaking, he dreams of being a high-end watchmaker and at just 18 years old creates a watch repair shop in his own home in Kyobashi (Ginza district). Four years later he founded the company K Hattori for repairs and sale of second-hand watches. In 1892, he created the firm Seikosha ("house of precision") manufacturing his own wall clocks and created the first pocket watch, called "Time Keeper" in 1895 or the first Japanese-made alarm clock. In 1913 he created the first wristwatch called "Laurel". His dream of being a true watchmaker is a reality. But the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 destroyed everything. Time doesn't stop, it advances. Hattori started all over again, a year later he was remaking his wristwatch this time under the Seiko brand. He rebuilt the tower clock in Ginza, in 1932 symbolizing the rebirth of Seiko and Tokyo's own city.

Keep moving forward, step by step. Seiko has evolved into technology and the science applied to watchmaking. In 1969, Astron was the first quartz watch. In the 1970s, Seiko is looking for alternatives to quartz with solar technology and later will be the kinetic watch, direct drive movement, chronograph, perpetual calendar, GMT, Astron GPS Solar (2012), Diver's watches and their diving watches. In the late 1990s, they created the Grand Seiko collection with large mechanical calibers such as the 9S and soon after perfection with the Spring Drive system coupled with all these advances and more.

"Be always one step ahead of others" Kintaro Hattori, founder of Seiko
