About Seiko SPB267J1 Presage Porcelain Arita Lapislazuli Limited Edition watch:

Arita, small town in Kyushu, important in the seventeenth century for its clay for the manufacture of porcelain. Arita porcelain, also known as "Cerámica Imari" after the name of the port from which it was exported.

Presage welcomes the Japanese craftsmanship of Arita porcelain in the color of the dials, made in the same Arita, fine texture, and in manufacture. This new porcelain is four times harder than the usual material and has the required strength and flexibility.

Hiroyuki Hashiguchi is the master craftsman in a production process multi-stage:

1.- Molding: in a special mold. The spheres are then dried and then baked for the first time at 1,300 degrees to harden and bleach the material.

2.- Enamel/Baking: Hashiguchi and his artisans then apply the enamel by hand, after which the spheres are baked again, this time, to fix the enamel on the dial, a process that gives the spheres their intense and deep finish and subtle blue hue.

3.- Completion: Small laser holes are then cut into the dial to locate the date window and needles. Finally, the spheres are baked once again.

The SPB267J1 version is powered by Seiko's high-performance 6R27 series caliber with a power reserve indicator at the nine o'clock position and a date indicator at six.

The model SPB267J1 is a limited edition of 2000 pieces and features a special dial that recreates the faint lapis lazuli colors created by a traditional dyeing technique called "ruri zome", creates a pleasant effect on the wrist.
