The GCW-B5000UN-6DR is a G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Carbon. The GCW-B5000UN-6DR is G-SHOCK's evolution of the first DW-5000, continuous development of functionality, performance and materials, faithfully maintaining the original design. It uses three different carbon materials for the bezel, strap and monocoque case.
The bezel and strap are made of forged carbon, which can be molded into complex shapes, providing a striking look
The forged carbon used in the bezel and strap is the same material used in the central body of the aircraft. The material is manufactured by integrating carbon fiber into resin, which is then forged in a press at high temperature and pressure. This creates strong, light pieces with complex molded parts.
This is the first carbon fiber reinforced resin monocoque case in the 5000 range, offering high strength, watertightness and weight reduction, achieved through Yamagata Casio's high-precision molding technology. Components such as the inner ring and buttons have been made from titanium.
The folding arm of the closure is made of multilayer carbon, which has a high degree of resistance to longitudinal folding. The carbon monocoque case is made of carbon fiber reinforced resin. The appropriate material has been selected for each component, giving the lightness and high rigidity of carbon to create a resistant, light and comfortable watch. The color schemes evoke the magnificent band of diffuse light of the Milky Way.
The GCW-B5000UN-6DR combines black carbon fiber with blue and pink resin, and opal dots that give it a mysterious look. This model also offers full functionality. Due to the characteristics of forged carbon (a mixture of carbon fiber and resin) the pattern, color tone and distribution of the opal powder on the surface of each piece (bezel, strap and clasp) varies from one model to another. *Opal powder is not included in the clasp.
