Since 1965, Seiko has continuously exceeded the limits in diver surveillance technology. Today, two milestones in this illustrious history are honored in the new creations of Prospex. In 1968, Seiko announced the first high-tech diving in Japan and, ten years later, the world's first quartz saturation diving watch was created. Now, these two world-important timepieces are remembered in commemorative creations that bring the latest in high-tech watchmaking from Seiko to those who work and enjoy the underwater world.

The same professional specifications are also found in a second new creation commemorating the 1968 diving watch. Its distinctive feature is the intense green color of the dial and the bezel. This rich green hue reflects the lush tones of ancient cedars on Yakushima Island at the southern tip of the Japanese archipelago.

In addition to being a World Natural Heritage site due to its forests, Yakushima is a destination much loved by the diving community, thanks to its crystal clear waters, coral reefs and abundant marine life.

Durability and strength are the slogans; The zirconia ceramic bezel is very resistant to scratches and bumps, the stainless steel case has a super hard coating and the sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating both inside and out. The markers of 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes on the bezel are painted with a particularly powerful Lumibrite to increase the readability of the rotating bezel and, therefore, the safety of the diver. In addition to the steel bracelet, a high-strength silicone strap also accompanies the watch.
