The MRG-B5000 series rediscovers the iconic design of the first G-SHOCK in history:
The design of the first G-SHOCK from 1983 (DW-5000C) now elevated to the refinement of the MR-G, with a construction that combines artisanal techniques and cutting-edge technologies. Now, it features an evolved design that enhances its iconic look.
  The bezel is made up of a total of 25 independent components, in a so-called multi-protection structure to safeguard the module. Skilled craftsmen polish each piece before assembly and give the watch a sophisticated finish, even in the most difficult areas.
The MRG-B5000R-1D features suspension components at all four corners, which combine T-shaped bars and leaf springs to provide excellent shock absorption.
The upper bezel is made of COBARION®, a chrome-cobalt alloy whose hardness is approximately four times that of pure titanium, exhibiting a luminous shine comparable to platinum.

The Dura Soft (fluorinated rubber) strap of the MRG-B5000R-1D is a comfortable fit on the wrist, made of rubber. It stands out for its softness and comfort, providing notable resistance to fading, stains and deterioration over time. The strap-to-case connection is reinforced by insert-molding titanium components, always improved materials.
The one-touch tri-fold closure makes it easy to put on and take off the strap.
The strap features textured patterns that inherit design motifs from the first G-SHOCK, including "SHOCK RESIST" symbols on the top surface and a brick pattern on the bottom.
Case back orientation may vary between watches due to details of the manufacturing process.
Passion for color of the MRG-B5000R-1D:
Black and gold accents carried over from the original range, the MRG-B5000R-1D is an homage to the color scheme of the DW-5000C-1B, the gold-accented version of the first G-SHOCK. Black DLC coating is used to offer greater wear resistance and an all-black look, homage to G-SHOCK's brand color. Gold-colored IP on the buttons and caseback evoke MR-G refinement.
