Since 1904, Oris watches have followed the goal of excellence in Swiss Made quality under continuous improvement at the highest levels.
Paul Cattin and Georges Christian founded Oris in the Swiss city of Hölstein (June 1, 1904).
The company opens an assembly plant and a second factory in the nearby town of Holderbank (1906).
The success of Oris allowed several factories to be opened in different cities, until 1929. After the death of Georges Christian, Oscar Herzog (his brother-in-law), became general director. Oris will open its own dial factory in Biel/Bienne, and will produce its own escapements there.
