The new Certina C024.462.36.091.00 is latest generation with antimagnetic silicon spiral.
The precursor to the DS-2 Chronograph Automatic accompanied a Japanese expedition team to Mount Everest in 1970. On the way down, the DS-2 Chronolympic graced the wrist of Yuichiro Miura, who skied down the mountain for 2,000 meters at speeds of up to 160 km/h. The daring adventure was immortalized in an Oscar-winning documentary: "The Man Who Skied Down Everest."
The DS-2 Chronograph Automatic C024.462.36.091.00 features an automatic caliber with a 68-hour power reserve and a silicon hairspring. Its tonneau-shaped stainless steel case is directly inspired by the 1970s model. The green dial is adorned with striking Super-LumiNova®-coated indexes and hands, as well as brown leather strap.
