Since the 1960s, Seiko has presented itself as international sports timekeeper. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Seiko Speedtimer with the innovative Caliber 6139, the world's first automatic chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch, two devices that improve measurement in a wristwatch and with the function of a high-quality chronograph.

Fascinated with Swiss watchmaking, he dreams of being a high-end watchmaker and at just 18 years old creates a watch repair shop in his own home in Kyobashi (Ginza district).
